Hey guys,

Today I wanted to shift away from my usual OOTD post, and write about a problem many of us face on the daily – dry skin! It’s always a mood killer and is hard to treat if you don’t use the right products. I wanted to tell you guys my top six moisturisers and body lotions in hopes that it will help treat you as well!
1) Nivea – Essentially Enriched Daily Lotion (with almond oil and sea minerals)

This one is my favourite as it is a very light enriched lotion. I feel that it is the best for dry skin, and has worked wonders on me and my friends. A lot of products include sea minerals as they help smooth the surface of the skin, and I’ve found this one to be the best that I’ve used thus far. This lotion has a duo of enhancements not only with sea minerals, but with almond oil as well. Almond oil soaks into the skin and really helps hydrate all those unwanted cracks and discomfort you may be having. Bonus – this Nivea lotion leaves a glowing dewy look to your face and body. It is also incredibly affordable, at just $ 12 for a big 13oz tube!

This one leaves your face feeling hydrated and moisturised for over 24hours which is what I love most about it. It also helps prevent wrinkles and blemishes. You can even apply make up afterwards and it’ll give you a flawless finish. Because this moisturiser is enriched with peach kernel oil and vitamin E it will leave your skin glowing and feeling baby soft. The only downside with this is that it is quite pricey – $73.

3) Extra Virgin Coconut Oil -

The holy grail of anything and everything, of course I had to list coconut oil as part of my favourites! Not only do I use it when I cook as part of a healthy diet, but I use it as a moisturiser as well. It’s my favorite summer time moisturiser. It works wonders on your skin; it’s great for instant hydration as well as preventing acne and discolouration. Coconut oil also helps fade away scars and stretch marks — I actually apply it on my stomach every morning and night. (After giving birth I got a few stretch marks as every mother does, and this really helps firm my skin and get rid of the marks). It’s suitable for all skin types (unless you are allergic to coconuts), it costs close to nothing, and can be found at most markets and grocery shops.

5) Clarins – Bright Plus Moisturiser (Sea Lily Enriched)

So this is another one of my favourites as it brightens, which is a MUST for Asian/Desi skin, or any skin for that matter. Whenever I use it, I notice a lot of my dark spots disappear. It doesn’t make your face too moist though, it is very light. It gives just the right bit of hydration one needs. What’s great is that it has SPF 20 to protect from the suns rays, and is perfect for sensitive skin.

6) Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion –

Last but not least, I had to include Cetaphil on this list. Most Asian/Desi families have it in their homes, and for good reason! What’s funny is I never knew about Cetaphil until one day when I forgot my moisturiser and was at my parents house. I asked my mom what she uses, and she gave me this one right away. I was pleasantly surprised! It is good for all skin types, and can be used on the face and/or body. It is rated #1 by dermatologists and is highly used in the States. Almost all the celebs in Hollywood use it and say it is the “secret” to their glowy skin. Actresses Zoe Saldana, Olivia Wilde and Charlize Theron have all claimed they love it and use it almost everyday!
